Welcome To the Funny Pages
We’ve all heard the saying, “Laughter is the best Medicine”. Well, on this site we believe it. Get ready for a good dose of powerful medicine. Go ahead, try to overdose, we dare you. There are some side effects you might want to know about. Some people experience dimples, others show off some white between their lips. My favorite is when little kids fall on the ground and roll around uncontrollably. You don’t have to be young to be a kid either, so don’t feel bad if you find yourself on the floor busting a gut.
Sometimes laughter can be joke-dose dependent. This just means that you may need to read many more jokes to get the laughter started, but then when it gets going, it seems like a lot of jokes make you laugh very easily. Then sometimes, you may not be in the mood to laugh and you will find that no jokes are funny (rue the day).
It seems like everyone is telling you to share things on social media. We would greatly appreciate it if you would do that with our material too, but for a different reason. Laughing is considered contagious sometimes, and the laughter of one person can spread to many people, which can provoke laughter from even more people. When enough people share humor and laughter, it can make it full circle and come back to benefit you in a type of positive feedback loop. This cycle can start with you, or end with you. We hope you will start it many times.
3. When life gives you melons, you might be dyslexic.
Do you know that human laughter usually consists of rhythmic contractions of the diaphragm and other parts of the respiratory system that often produce an audible sound. It is an expression of behavior regulated by the brain. Humans often laugh to demonstrate their intentions in social interactions, and it often adds an emotional component to conversations that otherwise would appear dull.
The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body, is called gelotology. It was pioneered at Stanford University of all places. In clinical settings, laughter was shown to alleviate stress and pain, and even reduce the allergy response of patients suffering from atopic dermatitis. How about them apples.
5. Chuck Norris can dribble a bowling ball.
